No, you don’t need a referral to visit Fleurieu Coast Physiotherapy. In fact, we are often the first point of contact for someone after suffering from an injury or pain. We can then recommend and connect you with any other parties that might need to support your recovery, such as a GP or a podiatrist.
The only exception to this is if you are unable to claim your physio appointment through medicare, then you will need your GP to send us a care plan.
-
How often you visit a physio is dependent on your unique needs as an individual, your condition, how long you have been suffering with the issue, your motivation, and how quickly you need to get back to sport or work. During your initial consultation, we will clarify this based on your circumstance, and give you a clear plan.
-
It depends. You may be eligible for up to 5 subsidised* physio visits per year. For example, If you have had pain most days for longer than three months. You will need to chat to your GP about your eligibility, and then request a care plan.
